Our company
A label factory, not a broker
Kowloon Knitting Co. (S) Pte. Ltd. was established in 1971 and later expanded its operations into Malaysia as Kowloon Knitting Factory (M) Sdn. Bhd. Over five decades we have produced every kind of customised woven label, personalised label and clothing tag our customers have asked for.
Our woven labels are made to a consistent standard with quality assurance built into the process rather than checked at the end. For customised woven labels we keep the minimum order quantity low and the pricing straightforward.
A good label lifts the perceived quality of the garment it sits in. That is the whole job. Our experience in this field comes from many hours spent working alongside designers and manufacturers in the garment industry, learning what fails in the wash and what survives.
Alongside our production team we run a label design team, so a rough sketch or a photograph of an existing label is enough for us to start. Our key responsibility is understanding what a customer is picturing and turning it into thread.

How we work
What fifty-five years buys you
We own the machines
Weaving, printing and cutting all happen in our own factory. Nothing sits in a subcontractor's queue, which is how we hold a 5–7 day sampling promise.
We design as well as make
Our label design team redraws artwork for weaving, flags anything that will not reproduce, and proofs it before production.
We start small
500 pieces. That is deliberately low, because the brands we have grown with mostly started with one design and one order.
We sample before we run
You approve a physical production sample, not a screen mockup, before the full quantity is made.
We know what fails
Fading, fraying, peeling, itching. Five decades of feedback from designers and factories tells us which specification avoids each one.
We answer the phone
Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:30pm, and Saturday morning. WhatsApp is usually faster.

How long has Kowloon Knitting been operating?
Kowloon Knitting Co. (S) Pte. Ltd. was established in 1971 in Singapore. The Malaysian operation, Kowloon Knitting Factory (M) Sdn. Bhd., followed and now houses our weaving, printing and cutting equipment in Johor Bahru.
Do you work with small brands?
Yes. Our minimum order is 500 pieces per design specifically so that new brands, tailors and home sewers can order a proper run without warehouse-scale commitment.
Do you manufacture in-house?
Yes. Weaving, printing and finishing all happen on our own equipment, which is why we can commit to a 5–7 working day production sample rather than waiting in a subcontractor queue.
